What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?

Argh. Well, my detail's going on hold. We're supposed to get rain today. If Averitt decides they want me, I'll be able to commute in my pickup, and Herman can spend a bit more time in the garage. Don't wanna expose him to a truck yard on a daily basis, and it's close enough that Earl's fuel economy isn't that big a deal.

Got one of them dirty, drove the Spousemobile to the office and back today, just enough rain tonight to slop it up. I usually don't "hijack" the '06 from my wife, but she complained about an odd noise from the right rear corner yesterday, so thinking "well it does have 119,000 miles on it, maybe its a rear hub starting to let go", I drove it today.
The cause of the odd noise when investigated more turned out to be a small tree branch caught up around the axle, actually it was more of a very large twig, but it was rubbing the inside of the wheel and sidewall of the tire. Where she picked up the "ride along shrubbery" is a mystery to me, but yanking it off the axle sure beats replacing a hub, and its cheaper too.
