What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?

Do y'all still have the Fireant Festival at the end of March like you used to?
My Grandpa Red Miller was born over in Rebecca, Georgia in 1914 and they used to head into Ashburn once a month because it was the "big city" to them.

Experimental Chroming
Playing around with some of the stone chip guards that the '06, '07 HHR's had without the running boards.
Picked up a pair from an '07 wet sanded the hundreds of chips out of one of them and am Experimenting with the idea of Wrapping them in CHROME.
Chrome Vinyl that is. They would then get a layer of Clear Vinyl over that, to protect the Chrome and give it a longer life.
Just in the Experimental Phase at the moment and they just may end up getting painted Black to match instead, we shall see how it goes.
The current Chrome Vinyl I have on the rack is NOT meant to "Wrap", so it is a B*TCH to work with this way. Will be using a digital heat gun to Control the melt/stretch and see if it's actually doable for these.
They do make a "stretch chrome vinyl wrap film" now, but it is pretty Expensive stuff.
A 30" X 30" piece is about $100.00, Plus Shipping charges.
A 30" X 4 Yard Roll (12 feet long) is $479.70 plus shipping. 60" X 4 Yard Roll is a Whopping $959.40 plus shipping. OUCH!
I am gonna visit my local Vinyl suppliers and see what they have, I buy from 2 local places, Hopefully they have something.
I have a roll of 24 Karet Gold vinyl (Real Gold) usually installed on Fire Trucks instead of real gold leafing. I think they make a Real Silver as well, by Sign Gold.
IF I can do this, and do it well enough to actually place them on my Panel (ZERO Wrinkles) they would look like the original stone guards made of stainless steel back in the 30's 40's 50's 60's and even into the 70's on some cars.
Sure wish GM/Chevy would have made these in a Chrome Finish to begin with for a much better retro look to them.
I have the running boards, but like the added dimensional Look of these, the added depth and shape in Chrome against the Black Paint would go very well with my Chrome on Black Panel nicely.
Painted the same color as the car as GM chose to do, blends and hides them on the car and I want them to be an accent piece added to my Panel, I want them Noticed.
Can't see it in the pic too good, but it is a Mirror Chrome Finish.
