Pushed up timing on my E30 tune. 10psi at part throttle feels like pedal to the floor used to feel with stock tune. Fastest trip to grocery store...ever. Tires are skittering a little bit so I need to dial the torque in so the tires bite just as they are about to burn. Strangely, despite ethanol having lower btu, my avg mpg has started to climb. Is it skewed due to decreased stoic ratio? Stay tuned.

Well the Stoichiometric ratio for Ethanol is 9 to 1 vs. the 14.7 to 1 ratio for gasoline, so you might be on to something there Breadfan.

Yep, except pump gas stoic in CA is ~14.11:1 thanks to all pump gas being up to 10% ethanol. (This is why my tune is E30-ish; 4 gal E85 in a fillup with ~E10) Rather than skew the MAF sensor, I made the calculated change against the fuel delivery. The computer uses pulses per rotation to calculate. (That is how it is so accurate) Not sure if the computer uses the pulse size figure to determine fuel delivery or if it thinks it went further with less pulses based on pump gas stoic. Now that I have a drink with olives in it, the answer to that will have to wait.

I'm old fashioned, I still use 14.7 to 1 for my calculations even though I know that E-10 skews it to 14.11 to 1 as you said.

As they still playing around with oxygenated gasoline in California, or has it gone away there too?

Oh, I'm not saying you don't know stoic on E10. I just brought it up because it is relevent to anyone in CA for the purposes of mileage. (and I'm a detail oriented IT guy) All of our mpgs may be slightly skewed because of it. At the least, we are getting less mileage here. I'm not sure about oxygenated gas. I just know CA blend sucks. I can tell everytime I get gasoline in NV.

Sound like you are getting it dialed in Bredfan, might have to share that vast knowledge if I switch from Trifecta. I got a set of big boy brake calipers on the way today, Thanks to jtvr4, Which rotors should I get, any suggestions ??

I don't know if I'd quantify my knowledge as vast, but I've no problem sharing what I do know. I can't expect any help from the forum someday if I don't pay it forward first. I spend my days explaining technical things to non-technical people in non-technical terms so I'm pretty good at helping with the 'click here, see this, do that' aspect of HPT. Feel free to pm if/when you make the switch.
