Took it over to my front end man as it has close to 78K in three years.

He checked it out and said it was fine.

He noted the rattle in the steering column that I had noticed over R/R tracks and large bumps.

He said they had several Chevy trucks that did the same thing.

Might just keep it until sometime next year.

Today I gave mine a bath. The HHR is now nice and clean.

The 'steering intermediate shaft' sounds like the problem.. It's an easy fix tho..

From what I have read on this problem it is not dangerous but annoying.
Is this correct.

Also does this come under the 100k drive-train warranty?

Got the hush puppies installed, sounds great. I would post a picture, but the Wife took it when I got home and I haven't seen it since.

drove to work and thanks to the suspension and brake and tire tips from this site I avoided being smacked by big rig that ran redlight on way to work this morning, thanks for all your input guys and gals!!!

Had towing base plate installed and put in a fuse by pass system. Why is the area you need to deal with always the hardest to get to?
