What did you trade in for your HHR?

We didn't trade in anything, trying to sell our 2000 Saturn wagon ourselves. It's got 96,000 on it, but we've taken good care of it, and have only had it serviced by Saturn dealers, except when in Montana in the summer, when we had to go to Chevy since there are no Saturn dealers up there. Gets great gas mileage, 29 city and 36 or better on the highway. We love to travel and thought this might be a good time to get a new car. At our age we don't want to take a chance of anything going wrong out in the middle of nowhere.
Our Saturn has never given us any problems, but we had a 76 Honda Civic, and when it hit 100+ thousand miles on it, this and that started going wrong, so we don't take a chance anymore. As I say, we're too old to be stranded... plus the HHR is just so cute! It's a must have.

I traded a 1999 Cadillac Catera with 140K miles. I loved that car, dual climate control, sporty V6, independant rear suspension and rear wheel drive. Maintenance costs were killing me. Had to order parts from Germany and wait three weeks. $1000 alone to replace the power steering pump. Luckily the dealership where I bought my HHR absorbed the $2000 of negative equity that I had in the caddy.

I got rid of my girlfriends 1996 Mitsubishi Galant ES w/ 101,000 miles and my 2005 summit white Chevy Silverado Standard cab, short bed truck that was airbagged, 20'' black wheels, and a list of other goodies. The only thing they didn't get was my stereo system.

Nothing. My 91 Tempo got written off after being hit by a logging truck (yeah, with me in it!).
BUT! I used the 1300.00 dollar insurance check as part of my down payment! Woohoo!!!!
I did NOT want another sedan. I was shopping sor a wagon/hatchback.
Boy, did I find a gem!

traded in my ford zx2 with 105k miles on it. Great car, I owned 2 zx2's I just wanted something a little BIGGER.
this is my first chevy, so far other than the water problem (now fixed? we shall see after it rains tomorrow!!!) it's been great.

I sold my 1995 Saturn SL2 with 211,000 miles !
Now you can see why I'm soo pumped about my HHR ! The Saturn was so TOTALLY NOT me - the only reason I bought it was gas mileage - I drive approx. 500 miles a week back & forth to work.

What did you trade in to get your HHR?
I traded in a '95 Corvette convertible. Life circumstances demanded more practicality and better fuel economy. I got a very good deal on my trade, though. I'll miss the Vette, but I like this HHR!
