I traded a 99 VW Golf GLS. It had about 94k miles on it when i traded it in. The A/C hadn't worked for 3 Florida summers. The clear coat was peeling off the entire passenger side of the car. The sunroof leaked. And it ate lightbulbs like candy. Other than that I loved the car. It handled great, got great gas mileage and with the 4-door hatch I could stow almost anything. My Dad bought an HHR about 2 months before me and I fell in love.

a 1998 Dodge Neon... I miss her so bad, I still love the HHR, the room and everything else about her, but I miss my lil neon we put so much blood, sweat, tears and yes MONEY into her...
here she is
and another of her interior
I would like to think the HHR will have this kinda transformation also, but I dont think quite as extreme... we bought her for 1500.00 replaced her tranny for 300.00 did that the 1st weekend by the next weekend we were prepping her for her 'plum crazy' paint job that was perfectly ME... then little by little we lowered her, put a system in her and re-did her entire interior, seats were the next step before we stumbled upon the HHR... and then before I knew it we were stripping her clear of everything that we could 'unbolt' and driving her to her new home...
once I was driving the HHR home I was
