wasn't it 16K? That's what I saw you post previously.

Hey All,

Thanks for the info....

If anyone is intrested, apparently our 2008 HHR SS's in prefect garage condition with around 19K miles is only worth about $14,000 on trade in

Even though I am ahead of the car value I am dismayed that it has depreciated by about half in just over 1 year.......

So instead of getting the '09 SS......I will be looking for the tune shortly(too bad there is nothing in the Stopper....er Stimulus Bill for Performance Upgrades) and keeping my '08

sorry the actual prices was 15,599 with free install on the stage 1 kit. So after taxes and all 16,000. I figured the 15,000 would be closer to his best bet at trade in.

Obviously no car guys in Washington that care about performance.

I kinda figured that was what you would find out. At this time unless there's a huge difference between the nearly new car you have today and the one you need or want, it's not worth it.

Good choice....rule one of buying a new car....if you can't afford to keep er a min of 3 years, don't buy it. You don't have that problem, but at this rate you can pay er off soon, have no car payment and use Bonnie and the case you save without car payments to buy a slightly used ZR-1 in 5 years. LOL

Yeah, but just the drive train, by that time "Bonnie" will need a tripple by-pass and some new shoes.

I am looking to get an 09' SS but I think the incentives will be better after the Presidents Day sale. I want to pull the trigger but I hate to get burned.

Got my SS one year ago (during the Presidents sale) and I can say that the incentives did NOT improve immediately after the Presidents Days sale ended.
Lately, there's never a bad time to purchase an HHR SS!!

Resales is so bad now I am seeing low mileage V6 Mustangs fro $11K-12K. They also are losing 50% on one year.

As for better offeres? Not usre how much better they will get till summer. I think Detroit is hopping for a bounce when the weather breaks.
