I didn't realize it was a no-no for Stick to pull a trailer!

You there, Stick? Is it safe for you to pull a trailer?

Wife can't drive a stick.

I drove a 5 speed and it was much faster and more fun.

But not to put it all on the wife. This is my daily driver and there are times I just don't want to be bothered to shift. Most of my drive to work is stop and go and not much fun with a stick never gettig past 3rd get many times.

Now if this was my third or fourth car it would have been a stick all the way.

I still miss my 1968 Chevelle SS 4 speed!

So now I haul my old, fat arse around with an automatic.

You should never use a stick to pull a trailer. Finding a stick which "could" pull a trailer would probably kill the whole tree! Just hook it up to your HHR. Much easier, too.

I have two other sticks in the garage, so the HHR is an auto since it is used as a daily driver. I did test drive the five speed and it was fine, but you didn't find many sticks on the lot in '06 that had the options I wanted (or better said the cars had more options than I wanted)

All my vehicles are/have been standard shift. I love beeing able to have full control of shift points. plus they are just fun to drive. Had a civic with a stage 3 comp clutch. that thing was a b**** to drive in traffic.

Auto- 3 reasons

Remote start, the wife and tourist season. My last 5-speed DD was totally brutal in the stop and go jams I ran into going to work every day as it was a major artery to get to Sanibel Island and Ft Myers beach.

I would be curious to know what percent of the SS owners on this site have the stick. I'd bet it is way more than 5%.
We have 2 HHR's mine is the SS with a manual, the wifes has the Auto... Too bad she can't drive a manual

I'm so very glad to be back driving a manual trans. No more automatics for me.I hate the things!I used to left foot brake my Audi just for sport. As long as I can move my left leg,I'm driving a stick.I'm sorry for you folks who can't drive a manual trans anymore because of physical limitations.
