What ever happened to DEW V6?

2 years ago a member named DEW was building a transverse mounted v6 hhr. Only pictures posted were of the engine and tranny mocked up in the engine bay. Anyone know of any progress made on this build? Did it ever get done or was the project abandoned like so many are?

He hasn't been on the site since 9/29/2013, so it may remain a mystery.

It's all done. It's stoopid fast. Can't figure out how to post pictures. 3.5 lz4 ecm thinks the only trans that will bolt up to a 60 degree v6 is an auto. So, i don't have a speedo and therefore don't have cruise. Also, p0315 is constant and i'm due for recall when that is scheduled i'll see if i can get some time with the programmer/ scanner dude. I'll see if he can get the ecm to remember the crank position sensor. If anyone wants to try, i suggest getting your engine, harness, and ecm from the same car it will make the rewire soooo much easier. I was dumb enough to just take what the boneyard gave me. It did become a good learning experience.

First upload the pics to your "Gallery" then copy the BB code to a post.

I'm sending you a link that will take you to see how the engine was put in and all of the work that went in to it. I think you'll like it. It's a book I had made and I plan on taking it with me to car shows. I know you have more work into yours but you asked about mine, so here it is.

Thing looks sick. What V6 did you use? Any ideas on power?

I used a 3.5 lz4 from a pontiac g6. It was a proving grounds car so it only had a thousand miles on it when they took it apart. People have estimated it at around 250 bhp. It moves the car down the road real easy. Sorry it's been so long to reply. I've been out.

looks great,, glad you are enjoying it..
would you do it again.. it looks like it would be easier to do than the v8?
at least from the stand point that you are staying with a front wheel drive

Good stuff! I love projects that are "some assembly required" especially if it hasn't been done. Which leads to "some headaches required"
