All in all, I'm very happy with my little SS
They do if you double tap the open button.

I went for a CSS and left with the HHRSS, I'm also glad I did.

The one thing I would wish for is telescopic steering column.

No complaint session for me. I knew what I bought and I'm enjoying my HHR. I have a 5 speed, so I would have liked arm rests in the front seats (why? for long trips). I'd also like a 2nd cup holder in the back seat (why? for the kids). I knew that the car had these couple of shortcomings when I bought it, but the virtues that it offers for my transportation needs offset the shortcomings.

I didn't mean for this as a complaint session. I was just thinking of how no matter what car I have I can always think of more that could be done or should have been done

I would like the 17's that came on the '06s... or '08 Malibu LTZ wheels.

On the panel, because there are no exterior handles, there is also apparently no locking mechanism. The car can be locked up tight, with the alarm on, but you can still pop the rear doors from the remote by accident. My wish was that when the doors are locked, the rear doors not be able to be popped from the key fob.

Now that I think about it, I hope everyone didn't take my response as a complaint. It's more of a critic as to what I think could make the HHR even better and a "wish list". And yes, I did get the right car and I love it! Now GM did make a huge mistake by not having a dome override switch in their 2009 Models. This was the first vehicle that I have ever had that did not have a dome override switch and I will say was a stupid cost cutting move on their part. I know because I talked to the executives in marketing and development directly and a so called poll was done that reflected customers did not want the dome override switch.

A vehicle that was meant for tailgating and customers want the lights to stay on knowing that their doors (especially the hatch) would stay open?

Yeah...right.

I haven't seen a 2010 so I can't do a wish list from that standpoint.

Some more things:

1. Gear indicators on the dash as well. I hate to keep looking down at my floor shifter to make sure that I"m in the right gear taking my eyes off the road.

2. Have a power seat for the passenger side. Do the power seat in more than eight ways.

3. Make the HHR a little wider.

4. Have more clearance (that may play into Number 3) as far as being able to reach the power seat options or put them up top where the power window controls are. It's real tight trying to reach the controls once the door is closed. Since my wife and I drive in different positions, I don't want her sitting there with the door open especially at night trying to adjust the seat to her liking. This way, she could adjust everything with the door closed. It's hard for me to do with the door closed.

5. Maybe a lift window in the rear or power window that would make the rear window open so you could put stuff in the cargo area without opening the hatch. Then again, that might be a problem with the rear windshield wiper there.

6. Be able to get to the headlights from underneath the hood instead of going though the tirewell.

7. Gas tank door release from the inside of the car. It's too easy for someone to get to the gas tank from the outside.
