i could not agree more. i was ONLY able to get my HHR because they go so cheap. i have a baby on the way, and i needed reliable wheels that fit my wife and i, a baby, and 2 big dogs safely. low price and high safety rating made this car such a deal. i really like it so far. i has a lot of shortcomings, but i still like it a lot. i consider the grille and the wheels the worst of the shortcomings.

aesthetically, i hate the stock grille. it looks kind of cheap and i really hate the gold on the chevy logo. i have seen grilles color matched, and they look a LOT better. i would like to replace my grille with a billet grille or at least have mine color matched.

i have an LS, so the wheels and hubcaps are very basic. i would like to go in one of two directions. either mooneyes moon discs (around $150. i consider them pretty reasonable) or vintiques smoothies (around $600 with wheels, powdercoating and baby moons). both of these options would allow me to keep the stock tires, so the costs would not be too high.

I just hope GM remembers that price sells a lot of cars.

HHR Wish List

What do I wish??
Park assist...since visibility is reduced, park assist sensors front and back bumpers and/or rear view video display would be great.
I agree with previous comment that large glove box compartment is needed.

Love my black HHR!!!

Sky the limit?

I wish the window switches were on the door panels and not the transmission tunnel.

Just kidding - but kinda!

Yeah, the position of those switches confuses me EVERY time I drive my HHR.

What do I wish for? Well, I guess a bigger motor (V6/V8) ... more room for radios ... and I wish I had the roof racks. But, alas, can't have everything.

What do you guys store in your cars that you need that much more glove box space? 8-tracks?

Do you have the storage compartment on top of the dash too? I have a lot in my glove box, and only use the top compartment for CDs (I almost never park in the sun), but I can fit a lot more than CDs up there!

My only complaint (so far) about my car is with the interior, I wish they would have bowed in the door panels to allow more leg space. Seems like they could have given us at least a couple more inches of space.

Also, my right shin is up against the console when I drive, and I constantly have to readjust my leg. And I can't move the seat back any farther because then my left shoulder hits the pillar. But, these are both because of my size, probably not the fault of the designers.

I had to get creative when packing all my junk into the HHR. I put my owners manual in the trunk boxes (in front of the spare wheel well area).

The door comparments are small at best. My 2010 SS doesn't have the dash top compartment due to the performence display being there.

You and me both ... I'm 6'2!

One more thing, AWD/4WD would be nice with this car. Not saying 4x4, but at least all four wheels powered would certainly come in handy during the winter, and make this a better car for the North East and N. Appalachia.
