what's happening to the HHR.
looking to trade my pt for a hhr, figure a bit more room,a little bigger on the inside, and want to try a different model, but need the loading room in the back.
BUT!!!!!in ottawa on can,hhr are very rare on dealer lots, seems like they are not selling very well, people are more into crossovers model.
i think that gm is losing on the hhr sales, also that they dropped the turbo in the cobalt, seems like they are working to sell electric cars, more than others.
humm to bad hhr,but i think i will stick with my pt for a bit longer, and go for a crossover later on.
anyway that is my opinion on the hhr,i am sure that gm will not admit that hhr is not a good seller anymore, as they thought it would be/
see you on the electric road of the futur.

If you can't find one on a lot, won't that mean they are selling not that the dealer didn't stock any? I know when they first came out here in the States they also were "rare" because they were selling faster than the dealer could get them in, one of the reasons GM doesn't have to pay for advertising, they sell themselves. You are welcome to drive what ever you like. Maybe someday I may even have an electric, who knows?

ya whatever! ''selling themselves''. in a lot of north american cities, GM is not advertising the CHEVY HHR. Lets not be silly here. What kind of business mass produces a product and says to themselves '' heyyy...we so popular...lets not advertise our product!!!!''' ? Look on your television screen...you will see advertisements for common things such as brand name : toothpaste, toiletpaper, breakfast cereals, sneakers...etc. THE business of making money for profit revolves around offering a desirable product or service, advertising it so its in your face 24-7, and actually providing it easily to consumers..so they don't have to hunt it down . Kinda curious....of all the forum members who bought an HHR since its introduction in 2005....how did you very first become aware of this vehicle? Think back....was it from a tv commercial, a magazine/newspaper ad? radio commercial? did you just see one rolling by and get all excited and track one down on your own?

I had seen a Sandstone one at the pumps filling up, seen the bowtie, and that week went to the dealer to get pricing. Only after Dory was purchased did I see the commercial set to "Music Revolution" by the Scumfrogs.

First saw an HHR back in August '05 when I took our '99 GMC Sonoma pickup in for an oil change at the nearby Chevy Dealer. While waiting I wandered up to the showroom area. There were 2 HHRs sitting up there outside the front door. I had never seen, or heard of them before. That evening we drove home with one of them.
Must say it was a very expensive oil change though!

I'm very keen on the GM's commercials since I sell Chevys and watch a lot of T.V. The HHR has very little advertisement compared to many other GM models. Why? I can't say for sure, but I see the HHR as belonging to a niche market in southern California so that may explain little advertisement.

I think that one day this might happen : a hollywood celebrity in the los angeles area will buy the new HHR turbo coming out and while drunk/hopped up on cocaine/ludes/meth...will crash his/her HHR into a mailbox. Then, like the usual sheep people are, they will all be interested in buying what the drunk/stoned celebrity was driving and GM will hop on the bandwagon and sell way more HHR's on tv and newsprint. If you think i'm high on glue....anybody recall the spike in sales when O.J. Simpleton was pursued by california hwy patrol thru los angeles freeways? sales of full size broncos were very very strong for a few years after that. Lets email lindsay lohan a brochure on the chevy HHR and maybe she might pick up the turbo model when it hits the street. Or if only some photographers were to snap off a few pictures of paris hilton or britney getting out of the HHR wearing no panties. Hooooray for rich drunk stoooopid people!!!

I saw an ad on TV. Then I went to the dealer to test drive one. When GM offer 0% financing, I bought it. I saw another ad tonight. Our regional Chevy dealer is always advertising all their models, including the HHR.
