Angry Whats that Smell Episode number 2!!!

im still getting a smell it only comes when the defrost and or where it blows to your feet, mainly when the ac kicks on since it does kick on on that setting even if its on heat. i did take it to the dealer and they sprayed Frigi Fresh in my ac they said it kills any mold or bacteria it worked for a few days now the smell is back. i guess ill change the in-cabin air filter and see if that works since it does look pretty nasty. any ideas what else it could be?

I didn't catch episode 1 but I'm sure it was mentioned and if it wasn't then maybe it's something that should be looked at but could there be some small creature that crawled in somewhere and is now dead and decaying. I wouldn't know where to began to check for that but someone at the service department might be able to take care of it. If they sprayed something and it went away but came back there might be something rotting away in a pipe somewhere?????

Speaking about the little "critters"......

I went to the Phoenix International Auto Show last Saturday, while looking under the hood on many of the cars I noticed Nissan had all the filling points taped shut. I asked the Nissan rep. (who happened to be the Internet Sales Manager), and he said they had a situation where "kids" were dumping "unusual items" into them. Questioned further he said, dead birds, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, plastic and paper wrappers, gum, etc.

Since most of the cars on display are dealer vehicles which are returned to the lot for sale to a potential buyer, it made me think of the situation several months ago, of some member displaying a mouse in his coolant or washer bottle.

By the way....the show sucked. As jx3 indicated for the Florida show, nothing really new except for some local custom and restored cars.

Remember that one. Washer bottle, and her father siphoned it and got a mouth full of mouse fur.
Also think chadpuska might have a dead critter in hiding someplace. Should go away in a few weeks if it is.

its more of a stale smell, i doubt its a critter because it only does it when the ac turns on

well as i said when you use the bi level where the defrost and or the part that blows your feet the ac automatically comes on even if the heat is on this thread explains that https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/general-hhr-4/heater-11282/
