Okay well we had ours for almost two months before we found out that there is that other glove box in the middle of the dash, so ya I really like that and the fact that the radio goes up and down as you drive faster or slow down and the remote start!!! All plus' in my opinion.
I <3 that remote start too!

Several things were a pleasant suprise to me...My Honda Element was rather spartan..
Auto Headlamps
DIC features, etc...
My wifes GMC has all the bells and whistles, but I rarely drive it.
Must admit, my nephew discovered the auto-start....very cool.

Wow. I have to say the subwoofer is pleasant instead of purely boom. The Beach Boys have never sounded so good.
Second favorite - the iPod controller (PAL) that was sold at the parts desk to me for $162. It allows the iPod to hide in the upper cubby and charge and the stereo controls it. Out of sight out of mind. So I don't have to constantly unplug it and hide it every time I exit the "Red Sled".

Let's see - the thread was titled "what's your favorite feature that you didn't expect" -
For me, it's an intangible feeling - the HHR's utility, uniqueness, economy and running characteristics blend together even better than it's designers intended it to. You just can't feel this good about a machine on purpose.
