Who Says You Need A Pickup?

Who Says You Need A Pickup?
I had to do some volunteer electrical work at the local BMX track. Not sure if they have a 6' ladder, so I have to bring one. I had to bring materials, tools and metering. I figured that I better drive the Silverado up there, but with 40mi round trip and this being a volunteer job, I'd really like to cut down on fuel costs. I ended up loading up the HHR and everything fit just fine!
Then my son calls and tells me to bring his girlfriend's race bike and gear with me (the bike was in our barn), because he was going to meet me there to ride the track (he already had his bike and gear with him). Was going to change my plans and bring the pickup, but I figured, "just a bike; should fit;" and it did!
I ended up getting about 32mpg round trip, which is better than I usually get. Most was country driving between 45 and 55mph with few lights. Saved some $$ and had a really good time driving there and back on the twisty-turning back country roads.
Of the many vehicles that I own and have owned, this one is still impressing me after more than a year of ownership... You definately have to be an owner to appreciate its versatility.

I have 12 boxes of Laminate Flooring and 3 rolls of underlayment (312 SQ Ft) in mine right now. Still have room left over. My HHR could easily hold 3 times what is in there with room for a passenger.

Funny, but I met up another buddy/volunteer at the track that day who had his F150 Harley Edition up there and he had less S**T in his rig than I had in my HHR. Goes to show how much people think they always need a truck to haul stuff, regardless. (as an owner of 2 pickups, I think I have room to talk). And no, you don't need the pickup all the time.

I'll take some pics of my car loaded for work. More room than a wallpaper artist needs.
I could def. fit it all in a 2012 camaro SS, Or a 2012 Stang GT
And i'd find a way to fit it in a caddy XLR-V too. incase you were wondering.
3 dream cars in 1 post , That do'nt happen every day guys, And i was'nt even trying.
