Who would buy it? or your best reasonable offer...

OK it’s starting to gel for my OCD pea brain.
I found a site that added mostly clarity and a little confusion; quoting,
“For example, the LT Equipment Group was originally an option package available on the Chevrolet Tahoe LS for model years 2000 through 2006. But for the 2007 model year, vehicles so equipped were given a new trim designation, the Chevrolet Tahoe LT.”

I don’t know what’s official at GM and how distinguish among a “model,” “trim level,” “option, “package,” and “equipment group” but I think maybe the latter two are types of options.
And I would expect that the marketing jargon would be different from manufacturing operations jargon, and also might vary among manufacturers.
Still confused? Me too.
I’m thinking that:
— there were only 2 “models” per se: HHR and HHR PANEL
—— LS, LT, and SS were each “trim levels”
——— everything else was an “option”
So, an LT trim level would carry either 1LT or 2LT Regular Production Option (RPO) code.
Edit - and of course an “option” might, depending on the case, be unrestricted, or mandatory, or have prerequisites, or...
Edit - or are the SS’s their own models?
Don’t know why but somehow I had it in my mind that maybe 1LT and 2LT got “graduated” from options to their own trim levels in 2008, but that’s apparently a figment of my imagination.

Now you’re getting it!
In 1974 the Camaro was available with the Type LT which gave a package of options thrown in like a truck light bright trim , that three piece deck lid spoiler, and a wheel and suspension upgrade.
the L was for luxury, the T was for touring.
The HHR is really no different with the FE3 suspension in the 2LT and not in the 1LT , the 17 inch plastic over aluminum wheels as mentioned earlier.

Yes, you checked that box when you ordered the car, or the dealership did , those wheels I mentioned were the standard wheels on the 2LT , or you could choose the nicer rims like you have, I wish Hertz would’ve checked that box when they ordered mine!
