Question Who's running a GPS in their HHR?

Since this not an option offered by Chevy, I was just wondering if anyone is running an aftermarket GPS unit on their HHR.

I had a thought that you could possibly mount or keep the unit in the storage area in the center of the dashboard.

seems like it would be easy enough to put one of these in there...

... and simply close the lid when not in use.

MOTRV8D, that's the exact model of Garmin I have... i3/i5. Works great! Yes, it'll fit in the center bin, but I just leave it suctioncupped to the windshield... more room for junk in the bin.

so you're not worried somone might bust your windows and snag it?
That's a pretty expensive unit to just leave out. Of course it prolly matters where you live. I was thinkin you could just leave the GPS in there if it could be mounted, suction-cupped underneath the lid... if that's possible.
what did you pay for your Garmin, if you don't mind telling us.

MOTRV8D, I got the i5 for $190. Yeah, may be someone might want to steal it, but I guess I'm just too lazy...

I'm planning on glassing a touchscreen there and having the Kenwood unit in the bin. I'll just run a separate speaker under the dash. I just need the display BIGGER!!!

I have my wife. She can partially read a map, let's me know when to turn after the turn, points a lot, and is never, ever wrong! Just ask her!

Have a TomTom Go700 mounted in the center storage deal. It does have to be opened while in use, but I just undock it and close the bin when not in use. Works a treat.
