Why?

One of the last posts was disappointed that the DIC wasn`t reset.
You want things followed to the letter with something like that, yet you want to disregard other things...

Some dealers put the stickers on to prey on the people who do not trust and fear new technology or do not know any better, I am sure. My dealer service people have repeated over and over to me to trust the oil life monitor and not to waste money and time unnecessarily changing the oil.

It'll be put out to stud to keep the proud, strong bloodline of a thoroughbred HHR going!! Until it peacefully passes with a smile on its face!

The first thing the s/m is gonna look at is the times the car has been serviced, and then he`s gonna tell you how much it`s gonna cost you, and why.
Oil changes are CHEAP insurance, and they look at other items that need lube and checks that you don`t remember when you do your own work.
Better keep real good records, you`re gonna need them.

I won't have my HHR for 300,000 miles. I think just about every dealership, garage, and oil change place is going to put a good old fashion 3 month / 3000 mile sticker on. What do you guys want them to write on the sticker? Something like "Change oil whenever your DIC tells you to or you feel like it"? I don't think that dealerships, oil change places, or garages are trying to screw people by putting the same stickers that they've been putting on cars for how ever many millions of years. Especially now days when dealerships are giving away free or discount oil changes how would it benefit them them any financially to bring you in sooner than you need? Other than the obvious bringing you into the dealership and offering you other services that they feel you might need that you can just decline anyways.
