A dealer in Pensacola is selling new '07s for that price. At least, that's what his TV add says.

I agree that everyone needs to do their research online plus many dealers offer internet discounts. You can also apply for GMAC financing online and have it all ready before you go to the dealer to negotiate. Then, you can remind him that financing is taken care of so you deserve a lower price!

Unfortunately (for reselling them anyway) the HHR is a great car to RENT--high utility, good gas mileage, reasonable rates. Rental co's buy hordes of them, then dump them on dealer lots as "program cars" less than a year old. Very bad for private owners!

Keeping it at least 'til the depreciation settles down a bit (i.e. several years) is a good idea if you want to take a more reasonable amount of average annual depreciation. That applies to most any car but especially domestics popular with rental fleets.

Its just a fact to live with. You buy a car new, anycar, get the paper work in your name, drive it off the lot, and as Emeral would say, " B A M" the price goes done even to as far as 5grand. Like stated earlier, never buy a car, except maybe a classic if you can afford to, for an investment. hell look at a lot of property values lately in todays economy.
