Wife Crashed HHR

My wife had a low speed crash on a sharp turn last Sunday.
As you can see she rolled the car.
Both cars suffered major damage.
The HHR is easily replacable but the 1937 Ford Street Rod is not so easy to find parts for.
We are still waiting to find out if the HHR is totaled.

I fixed the picture. You should be able to see it now.
The Street rod was coming the opposite direction around a sharp turn on a small back road.
They crashed drivers side fender to drivers side fender.
The HHR then rode up the fender/tire and rolled on to its side.
Air bag on the drivers side deployed.
No one else was in either car.

First off, I hope your wife and the other driver are OK! Nobody likes an accident even a semi-minor one.

I hate it for the Ford(probaly has a Chevy 350), but seeing the HHR rolled onto its side without any major deformation(from this picture) makes me feel good about my purchase-- we looked at so many makes and models-- but kept coming back to the HHR because of its saftey features, 5 stars accross the board. I have seen a lot of roll-overs and the back window never survives, even in a low-speed hit. Confidence is up!

How well did the driver's side fair? did you have side curtain air-bags? did the "****pit" and seat-belt protect your wife from major side-to-side momentum? Parents ask these things, sorry.

Hopefully they total your car, as they may fix it real well, but you will never look at the car the same again, and every little thing will piss you off after this.

I am again really thank-full for no injuries. I live about 25 miles from US 129 "the dargon's tail" and since it re-opened 2 weeks ago, there have been two wrecks. one fatal(a bike didn't stay in his lane and went through a procession of 6 bikes head-on) one just stupid(an Audi R8 rear-ended a Dodge Viper-the Audi looked like a total loss as the Viper was firmly on top of the hood)

Oh, the Sh#$y question, who got the ticket?

No injuries except a small scratch on her arm from the seatbelt.
The drivers side front was damaged from the impact and the passenger side is all dented on every panel from the roll. Front passenger window broken, most likely from the mirror on that side hitting it.
The engine was apparently running for a while and smoke was coming out from under the hood for some period of time.
That is what I'm worried about and why I hope it is totaled.
The other driver had to climb up on the HHR to help her unbuckle and get out.

Another View.

Wow...... like everybody else says, glad nobody was seriously hurt. Unfortunate for both cars, but the HHR is "fairly easy" to replace.... that rod is going to take a lot of work, and it's not like one can go down to the dealer and buy one. Looks like the HHR did well for itself though, 5 star rating and all.

WOW! Glad all are ok! This looks like an accident one of the SoCal guys had -- car landed on its side as well after getting hit by an SUV. Due to the fact no one really got hurt and the car held up so well (albeit it was totaled), they went out and bought another one right away.

Hope you decide to get another -- hate seeing wrecks like this, but makes me feel safe knowing it will hold up ok in an accident.

Shame about the Ford -- gorgeous.
