Will Chevy Build An SS Panel ?

$2000 wont even get the doors and 1/4's repainted let alone installed where I am. Someone backed into my wife car. Front fender and door replaced. Both bolt ons and the parts were 1/4 the bill. Total was $3800.00
The panel qtrs are not bolt on I don't think, so the old ones get cut off and the new ones welded in. Lots of man hours and refinishing.

Wow. That's a stiff tab. Those were outright relacements? Were they new parts or salvage? (I'm presuming new)
Not owning a Panel, I'm not sure whether their quarters are bolt-on or welded-in. However, depending on how they do the '08 AA5 Wagons, they may be offering a bolt-on version, something that would likely be a good match to replace the '07 windowed quarter if I read what you wrote correctly.
It sounds like boltable quarters and hoping the body shop can find some sort of reasonable market for the parts they're replacing are the keys to making this "affordable" (i.e. less than $3,000). As long as there's no cutting and welding involved and the parts are prepped and finished to GM specs, I'd hope the corrosion protection would hold in effect.

The wife drives MOPAR ..... Can't get her into a GM vehicle. We have 2 Silverados, a Colorado and the HHR as daily drivers. Her car was a Crossfire coupe. Parts were new. 2 stage paint. They had to repaint the hood and the entire side. Got hit in front of our house twice. We were not even in it! When it came back from the shop she traded it for a PT convert. I don't know where I went wrong with her. It's difficult to raise a wife these days. Next thing I know she is gonna want tatoos and a Harley..... Ok the Harley may not be a bad thing...

i work in a GM body shop and was lookin in our parts data base and at this time you can not buy either the quarter or the rear doors for a panel to replace our system does not even recognize they ever built a panel version of the hhr so unfortunately for now you have to weld in patch panels over the window locations.
