Windshield Snow/Ice Covers

Windshield Snow/Ice Covers
Currently we are experiencing "light freezing rain" and the sound of ice scrapers grinds through the neighbourhood.
A sheet that covers both the windshield and side front windows would help avoid the glass scratching and the accumulation of snow over the air intake. When that snow melts it can refreeze to obstruct doors opening.
Any suggestions for handy effective HHR windshield covers?

I use my remote scraper. Just hit remote start and give it ten min! I have never had the door freezing issue.
I did keep a car cover on to keep the freezing rain off. That was a mistake as we got a lot of freezing rain and I could not remove the cover till it melted. Well it sounded like a good idea at the time. LOL!.

If moisture get under the cover, the cover sticks to the glass. A couple of good ideas have been mentioned here, pull the wipers up and remote start to heat the inside. Just leave the heater control on the defrost setting.
When I lived in the snow bely, I tried the cover and the winter winds would blow it off..
