windshield wiper problem
#11
Old Thread but I just had this part replaced today...just got back from the desert a couple of days ago and I thought that the bolt that holds the wiper arm on had come loose (happened once before) No such luck as it was the same as described above, mine was the drivers side
Figures I haven't seen a drop of rain in almost 6 months and today was pouring out....thank god for Rainx Window cleaner...did a good enough job to get me to dealer lol
Replaced the wiper transmission and it came to 240 bucks, 132.00 of that was labor so not that expensive of a part.
I can see again lol

There is a how-to fix it in the how-to library. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...mission-32975/

I just had this happen yesterday to my 2006 which just turned 92000 km. What i did was instead of using a bolt and lock nut i used a cotter pin, it will give the ball socket a little movement. It seems to be working fine so far.

The transmission assembly for the wipers isn't bad price wise. These are windshield wipers folks. Kind of a necessity: it's worth fixing it right. Some of these repairs listed are good "in a pinch" solutions, but should be followed up with a long term fix.
Had mine go last summer while on a multi state road trip. Was surprised at the ease of swapping out when I got back home.
