Windshield wipers and snow

I'd go with Rainex. I use it and have driven in -10 snowing conditions with zero problems.

Scroll down to USES It sounds to me like there IS silicone in Rainex. Its a hydrophobic silicone polymer.

Personally being from Michigan we always just use the -30 stuff in our wiper tank and a small bead of de-ice on the blade itself in the morning can do wonders.
But I notice that the Rain-X and the Winter Mich's work better then the crap that came with the car or the ones the dealership through on mine when I bought it used.

If you use a foam shaving cream on your face or any other part of your body you might shave use a dab on your wiper blades when its fairly warm out. Just a dab on a paper towel will usually coat the blade pretty well.
It seems to stay on for more than one storm OK.
I'm not real sure how I figured this out but it does work. I've had a beard most of my adult life but seem to have a can of Barbasol shaving foam around most of the time. For some reason folks tend to give me a can every few years, maybe its a hint?
