Wiring under front seats?

A friend and I were talking about potential mods to my 2008 HHR this weekend, and adding heated leather seats were brought up. After looking under the driver’s seat, my friend saw a few wires under there and saw one that one was cut. What are these wires? The seats are completely manual

I’m posting photos of the wires under both front seats, the one with the cut wire is the driver’s side.

If you don't buckle up, does a chime sound ? If not, that may be the cut wire.

Cause both seats have sensors to tell if there are 1 or 2 people in front seats.

Could’ve been the power seat or lumbar support control wires.

Are you asking this question because you do have heated seats to install ?
Or are you showing the driver and passenger seats in the car ?

The large connector on the Passenger side is the passenger presence system.

Does the fasten seat belt warning work? That might be the wires for it. The switch is in the buckle, any wires flopping around?

It seems to be the seatbelt light, as the chime didn’t sound and the light didn’t come on this morning when I got in.

Leather heated seats is just an upgrade I’d like to do in the future.

Well, good that is sorted out then..

But if the wire has long been cut, then the passenger presence system would not have been working for as long as that wire was cut. Eh ?

The cut wire is under the driver seat. Mine chimes when the door is open, key in. Doesn't matter if I'm sitting in it or not. I guess I don't know what the wire actually is for.

EDIT: seat belt chime, got it.

It seems to be the seat belt warning. The one that lights up on the dash and chimes if you don't buckle up in gear.
The key in chime works when the door is open with key in, nothing to do with the seat. Only the passenger seat needs a presence sensor (to turn the airbag on/off).

I would concur with that assumption..
