Wow 35mpg!
I've been averaging 32mpg in mixed city/hwy driving and she's not even broken in yet. Went on a 350 mile trip and averaged a solid 35mpg (confirmed with both DIC calculation and my own). Computer says I can go almost 600 miles on 1 tankfull!
Tons of space, great gas mileage, and a smooth comfortable ride. I don't care what the auto magazine pundits are saying, GM is doing something right. Who needs a hybrid??!!

In mixed driving, I get about 27mpg. On a recent trip, I got 32.6mpg.
As a side note, the "miles-to-empty" calculator needs some reprogramming in basic math. When I was getting the 32.6mpg, I had gone 400 miles already and the DIC said that I had 206 miles remaining! That would be a total of 606 miles on the tankful! To actually get that range, I would have to be getting more like 37 or 38mpg. If you were out in an area with long gaps between gas stations, this could fool you into thinking you can make it to the next gas station, if you went by that number alone.

2.2 5spd
2.2 5spd - averaging 65-70mph. And yes, I was keeping my foot out of the gas - that's with the cruise control set.
You'd be surprised how accurate the computer is. As long as you remember to reset everything when you fill up, it's far more accurate than any human calculation could be. It's constantly recalculating based on many variables, not the least of which is how much fuel is still in the tank.
Can't be more pleased with my HHR mileage. Previously owned a Vibe and that was rated at 29city/36hwy with my 5speed - never came close to those numbers in reality though. I averaged 27-28 with that highly acclaimed Toyota engine. (by the way, the HHR is light years ahead of the Vibe in refinement). Not a huge Toyota fan here (for many reasons).
The fact that the HHR does better than advertised in mpg is a huge bonus.

The DIC says 26.1.........haven't reset it in over a month. Gas prices change every day. DIC stays around 400- 420 miles per fillup, still around 26 MPG I drive mostly Interstate at 70 mph, some in town driving, but live in small town, says average speed is only 40 mph..... Oh well..Also have 7000 miles as of today. Also the oil change is still at 74% after 3000 miles since oil change. no hard driving.... go figure. 2LT auto

I get about 23.6 to 24.8 mpg and about 350 per tank. I drive 40 miles round trip. I have not gone on a long trip yet, will in Augest. I will drive from Thousand Oaks, CA. to Lake Havasu, AZ. about 360 miles, we will see what I get then.

I generally average between 27-30. The best I've gotten is 32mpg, but if I can get 32 there is no doubt in my mind that 35 is possible....not the norm or average but certainly obtainable with the right road conditions and a driver that's focused on getting the best mpg.
Any chance you got relative in MN? Think I got caught behind one of them this weekend

I just got back from a 300 mile trip to maine. (300 each way of course) I made it home on a touch more than a 1/2 tank of gas. Got gas in NH on the way, drove all over creation, and didn't have to get gas until i was on my way back home at about 1/6 of a tank and 420 miles, DIC said i could go another 98 miles. I got about 33 MPG's. I am loving this car. Overall cost of the trip for gas was about $60. In my pickup it was $60 each way.
