the daughter of a friend of mine lost her job at a Ford dealership when they were closed down by Ford. It was explained to her that Ford felt there were 30 too many stores in the Philadelphia region and started shutting down the lesser stores.

 

We've had 5 stores close in our area this month. Two Chrysler, 1 Ford, 1 Ford-Mercury, and 1 Nissan.

My dealer is well-known, well respected and well capitalized. But there are many that are not in such good shape and are hanging on by their fingernails.

It is unfortunate for any business owner to lose their livelihood and their investment, car dealers included.
