08 now or wait for 09?

Just about ready to pull the trigger on an HHR SS. I'm wondering if I should wait for the 09 and see what performance options will be available, or if I should find an 08, which should be cheaper.

I was hoping for NAV, but looks like that's not going to be an option for 09.

If it was me I would wait till 09 model comes out and get LSD, brembos, reconfigurable performance display(seen presentation on it ) and maybe the AA5 option(solid rear quarter panel).

I know you have already looked here:

Just depends on what you want. If the options you want are already on the 08 and you can get a good price.

New model year is just around the corner. I'd hold out for the 09.

Thanks for all the replies...

What is LSD and the reconfigurable performance display?

Prolly not go with the AA5 option...although maybe I will. It will be my drum hauler. I like the performance options, not sure I'd drop the coin for 'em. I guess it all depends on the price.

I have a $1500 rebate that was sent to me through the mail and GM is offering a $500 rebate on HHR's in my area. And the more I drive my Element, the more it will loose value.

I guess I'll shrink back into the shadows for now I guess and go back and forth.

A limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In an automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.(from wikipedia)

the display can be seen here: CobaltSS.net thread but on HHR, looking at future dealer sheets on 2009 HRR SS, the aux glovebox gets deleted. Goes in place of analog boost gauge.

Ok, I know limited slip. Thanks.

I'm hoping the HHR is big enough inside for all my gear. I'm also looking at (used) Trailblazer SS or Silverado SS if it's not. Not sure I can swallow the gas mileage pill of those bigger vehicles. But then again, I'm averaging 19 MPG in my element so 14-16 MPG is those other vehicles isn't too bad.

I really want to get back into the GM fold. My uncle is retired from GM so I want to support them in that respect, but I also want an American car again. GM is about all I'd consider.
