that's odd. i ordered a 2009 SS panel two weeks ago. i got the VON number and build date of 8/25.

Got my SS out of the shop today. Turbo had "come apart" was the best explination I could get.... They believe it was from the wastegate sticking. The guys at the dealership were not a lot of help since this was the first SS they had worked on.......I guess that's good in a way. We'll see how well the new turbo holds up!

If my information is correct (and it came for the horses mouth), you might want to follow-up on that date - it would indicate that there is something amiss in the production of these and they are shutting down till it is resolved. There refused to even accept my order.

Definitely no VON - order got reject and when the Sales Manager queried this was told:

"Effective immediately, General Motors has placed a hold on all 2009 HHR SS Turbo production until further notice"

They are now waiting for GM to lift the production hold so that my order can be placed - till then I'm in limbo and without any schedule for my SS. Hoping someone however could vaildate this situation with their dealership and/or contacts.

I guarantee you the halt in production is due to the problems that are surfacing with the braking systems, mine in the service dept now and they are telling me they have no fix for it and GM has told them not to release the car back to me.

"not to release the ca back to me" sounds like you need to demand compensation for your loss I would in a heart beat
