Thumbs down Blew the Transmission up

Well I have been having problems with my 5 speed since about day 1.

It has been to the dealer for the problem, but of course it runs flawlessly for them.

A couple of days ago in comp mode going from 2nd to 3rd with out lifting *boom* the clutch pedal stayed on the floor and you could hear it ticking really bad. I look under the car and the case is split from the right side axle shaft and wraps under the trans and is bleeding all over the place.

Oh yeah the car is bone stock!

I never had a CEL come on. I curious what the dealer finds out, and if other 5 speed will start shelling out or if mine is a unique pos trans.

How many 5 speed melt downs do you think it will take till theres some kind of recall ? i'm drivin the bejeezez out of this ss . if theres a common problem mine will go , I guess it's just a ? of when. well, havin a blast in the meantime.

5600 miles since i got it May 29th , top speed so far 125 ran out of road, gets there dam fast.

good luck , and keep us posted on the outcome with your dealer.

That is exactly what happened to mine after 50 milles. I was not in comp mode and I was shifting from 3rd to fourth. I heard a loud boom and the clutch pedal went all the way to the floor and stayed there. The clutch blew apart into a million pieces and cracked the transmission. Two weeks later everything was replaced including a new flywheel. All has been well for about 800 miles since. They had to pull a transmission off the assembly line in order to put mine back together. Good luck to you.

Hpoefully they don't point at this TSB as the issue... note that it says this is an "abuse" situation and so not covered under warranty.

For what it's worth mine is equipped with the LSD.....its an option in Canada. Dunno if that may have an effect on this situation at all.
