Got my car back yesterday with the brake fix. They had the car for 2 1/2 days, because they ran into some difficulty in installation (mine was this dealer's first brake fix), but they ultimately got it right. My brakes worked perfectly this morning! Definitely worth doing IMO, and as another note mine already had the GM stage kit installed, and everything seems to be fine with both the stage kit and brake programming.

Good to hear that all is well now.

My shop foreman did our only install and it took him 3.0 hours. No problems with the install and no problems with the kit once GM got the programming corrected for a stage 1 and the vacuum pump. We were the first to call them with the issue but before they got the correct programming loaded for the VIN they already had another case somewhere else in the USA.

So from here on out everything except the install should go smoothly. I believe if one of my techs had done the install instead of my foreman, it could of been a 2 day job. He is one smart cookie.

My pedal is going straight to the floor at the very first stop every morning. I went and talked to the dealer today and this is still no fix for the 5-spd cars. Anyone heard anything coming out for the manual trans cars?

Is it just a hard pedal or is it going to the floor. The fix is for a hard pedal as it has no vacuume. If the pedal is going to the floor it is a different pronlem.

As of now I have not heard of anyone saying there was a fix pending here or on the Solstice/Sky web sites.

Keep reporting it as even if the dealer has no fix the reports may spur GM to adapt the fit to the 5 speeds. Just be understanding with the dealer as he is in the middle on this.

One of you manual transmission members needs to start a thread in the SS forum on soft brakes or brakes to the floorboard problems. This thread pertains to automatics with a hard pedal. Big difference.

This issue may be related to a master cylinder. Possibly someone has had the problem and it has had it fixed, so a new thread dedicated to this issue might help the rest of you.

Mine is getting the Vacuum pump installed right now and should be done soon. The dealer has had it since the evening on 4-13. They confirmed that it should get the upgrade but had to wait for some parts. Can't wait to get it back and hopefully won't have to worry about the brakes anymore.

Ours is done. Fixed the issue 100%.

Weslow in SJC is now familiar with the issue. I was the test fixture. LOL.
