The Brake Fix Is In

I am sure they flashed it but did they use the correct flash as there are more than one. Also many have had the wrong flash put on and not had an improvment.

All you have to do is check the dealer name at the top of the survey to make sure you are grading the correct dealer.

vacuum boost - brake issue
Happy New Year All!
I have an '08 SS 5-sp which had intermittant hard brake pedal on start up cold... have had car the dealer three times for issue, and finally got it right on 3rd attempt. they replaced booster and check valve and no recurrance of issue. Some times you have to just hang in there with them.

if you watch at start up, there is a slight amount of turbo air build up when cold( enrichment) so not much vacuum being made, after eng stabilizes the vacuum builds and booster fills.....but then again, you may be the exception and actually have a legit fix...keep us posted.

Picked up my car today after having the brake vacuum pump installed. I've had the GMPP turbo upgrade for a while now and the car seems legitimately more responsive than it was before I got the brake fix. At first I thought it was just because I'd been driving a Saturn Aura for the weekend, but I went out in it again and it still seems like it's taking off faster. Am I imagining this or is there some reason this might be happening?

Taking my SS in next week to have the vacuum pump brake fix performed. For those who have had this done what should I expected regarding the splicing and addition of wires needed for this repair? I realize the TSB instructs the tech to route all wires in existing wire loom or add loom when needed but my experience has been repair technicians don't always perform repairs to a level of factory appearance particularly when it involves splicing or adding wires to the factory harness.
If it doesn't reach my level of expectation I will have them make any changes necessary. Just wanted to get a feel for everyone else's experiences. My HHR is not a daily driver so under hood appearance is of equal importance as the mechanical repair itself.

Then I showed him the mess of cable ties, electrical tape, and brought out my trophy and pictures from a car show and asked him if he thought it was as clean as I had kept it. He said they didn't usually replace wire wraps, looms etc they just incorporated what was there. I showed him loose wires, crappy ties, electrical tape and said if this was how they treated their customers cars, fine, I'll go somewhere else. He said they would fix it. They did a pretty good job fixing it after I complained, but ChevyManager clued me in to a better shop locally that I plan on using from now on.
