Brembo Upgrade

Brembo Upgrade
Hey everyone.. just got a killer deal on the whole Brembo upgrade kit..
First off, it is the easiest modification..two bolts and new rotors is all that needs to change.
Second.. once you do the swap, you'll realize that the same pedal effort gets noticeably increased stopping power (plus bragging rights of having Brembo brakes on an HHR???)
My only gripe is that after greasing, the "clips" (the pieces that install under the pins in the caliper) still "tick" periodically... if anyone has a fix I'd love to hear it.
Good hunting for those who hate the stock braking feel.. the whole swap will cost you $400ish with new parts.

I don't think I would advise greasing the clips. I know that my Brembos new from the factory did not have any type of lube on the clips. I had them apart when I painted the calipers right after I got the SS new. No lube was there.
I did lighty lube the pin ends though. The pins have been known to corrode and get stuck in the calipers.
Reason I wouldn't lube the clips is because of the way they sit on top of and hold down the brake pads. Over time, some of that lube could breakdown and might ooze some residue onto the pads and rotors.
Fwiw. Mine have never made any type of ticking noise. Every now and then I will get that slow speed "Brembo brake squeal". From what I've read, the squeal seems to be a normal thing with some Brembos.l

I might sell them. I can't think of any reason to keep them..
As for my "tick", my buddy's Brembos on his Infiniti do the same thing. It seems like it is the tension clip moving in and out of its grooves on the pins (yes, they were put in all the way). Then again it was doing it with my stock brakes too..
Anyway, the only issue with the take-offs would be the rotors. They were a bit on the warped side, but also had never been turned down. The rest of the system was fine though.
Thoughts?

I would sell the caliper brackets and calipers and rotors or let the buyer get new rotors if they wish. I purchased my rotors and pads from crossdrilledrotors.ca, nice product and no shipping charges to Canadians and the price was better than ATE rotors and pads up here
