Buying 2009 HHR SS how much off sticker did your dealer go?

Buying 2009 HHR SS how much off sticker did your dealer go?

I am gong to start shopping for my HHR soon and want to get an idea what most dealers were offering off.

I have looked a several 2008 HHR SS that were stickered at $26,700 and one dealer offer one for $24,500 and another had one I was too late for that went for $22,400. Both were new and only had 4 and 7 miles.

I really want a 2009 but I would have taken the one at $22,400 as it looked to be a very good price.

I have not hit the dealers up on a 09 yet since many do not have them in my area yet. I know GM also usally has a big Labor Day sale each year too.

I hope since Ford in my area is offering Employee pricing GM may follow soon since sales are slow here.

If you guys could give me an idea of the deals you got it will help me with my dealing with the dealer.

I will give themn a fair price but I will not over pay as they build more every day.

Did the $24,500 price include the current rebates, or was it offered at $2,200 below MSRP without the rebates? Right now the rebates are at $2,250.

I don't think it did include the currant deals. He kept p[ressing me that it was 500 miles away and he would not go any lower as it was going to cost him extra to bring it in.

I said thank you and I would pass.

I was hoping to get into the $23,000 range but he said no and I did not get into the details. This was just a phone deal and he did nothing to get me to want to go to the dealer.

FYI I was not working them too hard as I really want a 09 but since none are on my local dealer lots it is hard to deal with them on them right now.

I have only a few here and they are not the right color or have the right options.

The 09 I want will sticker right at $27,000 and I hope with upcoming deals GM may offer I can reach a $23,500-24,000 price.

The one that went for $22K was a great deal and too bad it was not there. I think I saw it the next day as I saw one red one with that dealers plate on the front on 71 N in Ohio. What are the odds. Their price was posted right on their web page there was no dealing needed. The only thing it lacked was the performance seat.

if the sticker is around 27,000 i don't see you getting it down to 23,500. That's just my thoughts though. Just seems like a very unreachable price getting 3500 off of it. With the 09's coming out and if you don't have one order yet, i don't see them continuing the larger incentives. I'm thinking the larger incentives are to be clearing the inventory.

Start with "Invoice" on the car (this right off the top saves about 1,200 - 2,000 this is what the dealer ACTUALLY PAID for the car). Then do incentives/rebates.... Atleast thats where I would start. Also go through the internet department you also get a better deal as for the Internet Department sells a majority of the cars (new and used) for the dealership they can get you a better price. Just my

the best i was able to do for a ss was 1000. off of 24775. two days ago i could have gotton 6000. off an lt or ls at about 20k but im glad i got the ss so glad i put 350 miles on in two days just driving around

The one deal I do have on a 09 is for Dealer inv which per Edmunds is just over $25,000. The company I deal with works with some dealers and they will go $100 INV right off with no other deals form GM needed.

GM is in a world of hurt right now with sales down and stock down. They need to generate cash flow so we should see some deals in the future but as of yet there is no way to tell what they might be.

I work dealers hard and there are deals out there as you just have to work for them.

My wifes loaded GTP Comp G was stickered at $32,000 and I made a deal over the phone for $23,700 and then removed $2000 more on my GM card credits. So we drove out at $21,700 with a brand new 04 GTP.

This was in Febuary and they were not selling cars.

I don't plan to get as gfood of a deal as I did on the GTP but I want to try to get the best deal possilble. I also have built up my credits on my GM car to knock off up to $3,000 if GM moves the limit up from the present $1,000. I would like to see a $2,000 off with this card this fall.

If you don't use a GM card now and plan on buying GM in the future get this card. We buy oru gas on it and pay it off at the end of the month. What ever deal you make they will take at least $1,000 or more off on your new vehicle. We gain about $1,000 of money off a year. It is free money as long as you don't carry a balance.

Either way I will get one and just want to know all the options I have.

I don't expect to get a deal like I did on the GTP but I want to get my best deal I can. I also am watching to see if GM opens up the GM card money frm the present $1000 to 2,000. they do this several times a years. THis is free money they take off after you make your deal and it cost the dealer nothing. If you don't have a GM card you might look into it.

In the past they did not have limits but in 05 they added limits to how much on some models you can use. Either way it is still a good deal if you pay off your car every month you pay no interest and get the money discounted at no charge from your new car.

I like most want to buy on emotion but the older I get the better I am at working a deal. I just want to get a ball park of what others are doing for deals as it will give me an idea of what some are getting on this vehicle.

I plan to use the internet and phone to deal with dealers not local to give me more options. too. This is where I saved buying my GTP as they were not willing to come close to that price here in Akron.

I expect GM to have some deals thatr should get me to at least $2000 off sticker and with extra dealer holdbacks some larger dealers may give some extra just to move cars for GM. With a slow economy many dealers are hurting just as GM is.
