Questioned my dealership last week and they knew nothing. After placing the order, the next milestone (as I understand?) is the estimated build date from the factory. US orders are being filled, US dealerships getting 09 delivered to their lots and some US orders with the RPD options getting re-scheduled. But despite having to pay considerably more for the same car, our Canadian orders just seem to fall into a black hole. As much as I want an SS, I'm giving it a couple more weeks then moving on. Maybe one of the other manufacturers might value my business, seems GM doesn't

Hi guys, I sent your concerns to Mr. Lutz via email. I hope it sinks in to GM that they are being irresponsible in their dealings with customers. Here is my email to him. My appologies if I was out of line using your quotes, but I just get sic when this crap happens. As you know I'm a retired GM employee and I can't believe a company that is looking for business can do this. My comments to him are below.
Hope all goes well for you.

Mr. Lutz, A lot of people in the ChevyHHR.net forums are wondering about the '09 models for Canada.
Here is just 1 response. This is what loses potential customers. I'm a retired GM employee
and if this is how information is carried out to the customer how can GM possibly compete
with the others. This is ridiculous!! Customer satisfaction should also be applied when a customer
has an order in. Why doesn't GM give some info to these people before they're gone forever.
Completely irresponsible for a company trying to get market share back and get back in the "BLACK".

SEE BELOW:

This where I put your quote above. I hope it helps some

CokeyBill - thanks for stepping in, hope it helps. I've already sold my vehicle assuming that I'd get this one in 8 to 12 weeks (the Dealer thought it would be here in 6 lol). Not having any transportation and not having any idea when the HHR might get build is making waiting much longer very dificult.

Again, appreciate you taking action.

Much Appreciated CokeyBill, I also just wanted to mention that there are 09 LT and LS models on the lots around my house and I also saw a 09 SS Cobalt on a lot... So what gives I thought the rumour was that there was a concern with the 2.0 in the Canadain market. Again ordered mine July 11 that makes it 2 months and 6 days well over the 6 week waiting period I was given as an estamated delivery date.

dealer said the order was accepted. on monday they will confirm the build date. they suggested it should start within 2 weeks. sounds like everything is on schedule for me.

ask your dealer if the order was even accepted

Yes, my order was accepted, I quested the order number for confirmation. What you are hearing (I'm afriad) is the standard dealer reply. I got the same thing, build in 2 weeks, 4 for shipping (plus or minus) and here in most likely 6 weeks (but GM has told them to quote 7 to 8 weeks). Not to fault any problems. Follow-up with them in two weeks to see if it is actually built or if they even have a build date, unless something has changed - you wouldn't get a good answer for either.
