plus sounds like they are working out mechanical issues.
Yes I've seen the SS and test driven a couple but they were all 2008 (before this problem became wide spread). What year was the one you test drove?

I haven't heard of the brake problem being reported on the Cobalt Forum. Not sure what the difference would be?

I am thinking it has to do with the Auto tranny and all the Cobalts are 5spds ???

That would obviously make the difference. Was unaware that the Cobalts were all standards. Neat but surprising.

Ok this could be the case. If you "Build your Cobalt" on the Canadian Chevy site the SS does not have an Automatic Trans Option, I am assuming this is due to the strength of the Auto. This does not explain why they are not building My HHR as I have ordered it with a 5 Speed.....

Yep, mines a 5-speed as well - but with the seriousness of the brake issue I'm wagering that the beaurocrats (Government) just issued a blanket 'No Import' on the vehicle not differentiating based on the type of transmission. Makes regulation of it pretty simple and I would suspect fairly standard practice - i.e. black ball the vehicle, not specific vehices with specific options.

Blows a hole in that theory - I'm out of ideas

Oddly enough however if you do a search for new car inventory at any GM Dealership (including Milton) they don't even provide the option to search for an 2009 SS - only models they list in the drop down menu is the Aveo and the Cobalt. Like it doesn't even exist in Canada yet.

Did either of you get the Performance display? That is causing a delay here in the US. There has been talk in another forum about it. Most are saying build week of 10/13

The Performance Display is not an option in Canada, so that can't be it. Unfortunatly.....

I scheduled a meeting with my Dealer to pull my order and guess what?

They now tell me I have a build date of Oct 6th. If it is true it is great news but the timing is a little convenient. Anyone else in Canada getting similiar news? Please, please.
