I have gone to cruise in's and the like but I do not enter my car in shows because it is too new. I just don't feel right about that.

Even though I drive it daily and it is cleaner than most cars there I just save the shows for my car that is 25 years old and is not stock. I have the real work and effort in that car. I want to win because of the work I done and not just because I put some bolt on things and waxed the car.

My other car I did the interior, suspension and put in a T top. I also added many of the body mods myself too. I rebuilt it from a crash so I feel better showing it vs the SS.

That is just my take on what I do.

I do get questions and interest in the engine at the cruise in's. As for the HHR part most don't care about it.

I leave mine out in the parking lot and just enjoy its inner virtue. Most don't know what it is anyway.

Minitruckin!

I'm going to a minitruck show July 4th. Maybe I'll get a few looks! That's why I got bags!

Minimal interest at cruises.

It's usually bikers that are interested when they see the SS on the doors.

I think it looks more dangerous with the black CSS wheels

There are a lot of late model Rustangs, Camaros & Vettes at many shows around here.

I have no problem parking my SS in cruises that let them in.

Sorry I fixed the typo.

Cruise in's are fine but car shows I keep the SS out.

I used to laugh at the totally stock PT's when they came out and dealer fresh ones came to shows so I keep the SS out for the same reason.

Like I said it is just the way I feel about it for myself. Others can do what they want. I just don't feel right in doing it.

Now cruise ins I will take the SS to them and hang around.

My Family and I go to a lot of shows, and we are the only HHR SS there. We are never turned away and mostly get comments from the old hot-rodders, never won anything, but it is a good excuse to detail the SS every other week.

People show minimal intrest but nevere balk at seeing the SS next to a real classic muscle car.... Now if I could only find a totalled Camaro SS, I would love to swap out drive trains. and then label the HHR as a Camaro! Now, that production is winding down on the HHR, we might see more intrest in the comming years.

The body kits alone on the SS is heads above the regular trim levels never mind the fact of the increased power.

I am not a big BUFF about car shows as often the owner is never near the car and the cars I am interested in are FAST cars and the ones that look FAST often have owners say its not a race car but it "SHOULD RUN >>> XX.XX ET's" and it tends to be a turn off.

But its a great source for appearence modifications.
