Clutch and Trans Blew up in less than 48 hours

Just my $.02 worth......Why through a fit..........thats the easiest way not to get anything......The dealership has done exactly what they were supposed to do..........If you like a little more out of the dealership.......ask nicely for some additional service coupons for you inconvenience.....they may give you even more......WW
I am calm and collect and gradually increase my complaining until I am appeased (may take a while to get to that point). I have worked with dealerships (and in dealerships) enough to know how to work the system...
I can see how my comment can be taken out of context.
Although, simply saying, "Sir, I am unhappy. Please provide me with some service coupons." gets you 1-2 free oil changes. To me that does not cover the inconvenience. I mentioned what a fair compensation would be, and that might take some work to get, but you will get it if properly handling the situation.
OP, Worse case, check local lemon laws if you continually have problems with the car. I can say that I am happy with mine!

I agree with WhiteWolf here. Yes, it's terrible that this happened, but the dealership is on it, is replacing the components, has given you a car to drive. These things are all as they should be for the dealership ...
Now, if the dealership drops the ball somewhere along the line -- say, they mess up the install and the car's not right when you get it back, THEN you start your b*tching. Right now, the dealership is doing what they should. GM is paying for it all. And you should get your SS back in new condition. Afterall, it's not like you had to change the clutch and transmission out after 50,000 miles so they are new and the engine is "old." Your car will still be "all new."
Good luck, be patient with the dealership at this point, and keep a positive attitude. You'll get a better response from the dealership and GM if you do.

Don't automatically jump on the dealer. When you pick up your car ask what caused the failure. There could have been a manufacturing flaw in one of the trans parts.Better to go in with a cool head than with attitude blazing.

This is all true. I guess my standards are higher and would be furious to have this happen to me. Every person is different and will deal with problems in different ways. I would desire more compensation for my time and inconvenience, while someone else would be happy just having their car fixed. To each their own...I am not arguing with anyone and respect everyone's opinion and that GM will in fact fix the car 100%.
Please, take my rants here lightly.

No problem. We're just sharing our experiences and methods here with the rest of the community. Don't let this bad beginning sour you on your SS or your dealership. The odds are in your favor that you'll get your car back and not have any more problems with either the clutch or the tranny, and that the dealership will do right by you. Now, if you do have future problems with these repaired/replaced items, or the dealership doesn't take good care of you, then you stay calm but start escalating.

So sorry to hear about your problem. Very much doubt any kind of "pre-delivery" abuse could have caused this as some have suggested. Mine has held up just fine with a tune adding at least 60 ft-lbs of torque and fairly hard driving. Bad parts or somebody left something out during assembly. Fortunately, my "missing parts" have been non-mission critical.

I got word today that a new trans in on the way from the factory....which I think is in Mexico?? Should have my SS back in a week, maybe two. I have been very patient and understanding with the dealer. I hope i don't have any problems down the road. I am telling myself in my head that I just ordered a brand new car and I am waiting for delivery of it.
