common problems

of SS and the HHR. I have a Cobalt 2.4L now. Well I have had 2---both have been trouble free. But it bores me to death. I need some speed!

Reason I am thinking of an HHR-SS is not looks but there is nothing else on the market in this price range that is fast AND is AUTOMATIC

fixed original post. Need an automatic. Plus I would be kind of insane to get get another one. After the first, getting the 2nd did not feel like getting a new car--it was the same...mostly

Common problem of the HHR SS is the noise coming from the dashboard, and the suspension during cold weather.

Common problem for some not all. Brakes feel weak, Coolent leaks from what I've seen here. stage kit issue was the installer not soldering the wires and will make it surge or other issues.

brakes feel weak is an opinion, which i disagree with & magazine reviews as well. cooling leaks haven't been actually verified. noises when cold out is a common concern on many cars, as the rubber bushings in suspensions get hard as rock in cold weather. i have been working in claims for an extended warranty company for 8 years now & the hhr in general is a very reliable car. i have done literally a handful of claims on the hhr since the car has been in production. if you want to discuss cars that i do a ton of claims on, that would be honda!

No issues here. I had a few install issues on the Turbo Upgrade kit related to an accident I had but a few shims and all is well.

There also have been a few TSB upgrades the dealer had and they made the upgrades with no issues or charge and they were of my choice having them done.

I too also have no issue with the brakes. When I had my accident when the guy turned in front of me the brakes and stability control saved my life. I should not have been able have turned the car as far as I did with out the help of these systems

Oh No leaks either.

Automatic needs the Turbo Upgrade. It is the best money you will ever spend on the SS.
