Competition mode review

I have researched this forum on the "Comp. Mode" I have the SS with the auto. To save everyone some time, this is what my understanding is. When in the comp. mode with the auto tranny, you can powerbrake it and build up the boost then left off the brake and you should take off faster. My question, is my understanding of this correct and am I missing anything else the comp mode offers. No need to get to technical, just want a good undertanding of the comp mode before I go using it. Thanks

If I recall correctly it also disables traction control and loosens up the ESC a bit so you can push it harder in the twisties :)

I remember when I tried it out you can put it in neutral also and the revs are limited and then you can throw it into drive. This is probably old news though

I would not do the neutral drop as the warranty will not cover any such action. most cars today are limited in revs in park and neutral. This does not mean you can neutral drop it. Just because you can does not mean you should.

The most clear thing the Comp mode in the auto does it does not kill the traction control nor the ESC. It will raise the limits highter so it will not cut in unless you really go all out over the edge.

The TC is cust back to give you wheel spin but not cust power but it will still cut in a little to keep the car moving. It makes for a spot in the middle of no TC and full TC.

The 5 Speed will permit full throttle clutch drop and no lifts shift.

But do not neutral drop this tranny or you will end up buying a new one out of warranty in time.

Like others have said, DO NOT DO THE NEUTRAL BOMB! That is a good way to break something. Also, spinning wheels is not a good way to start. It really is slower. Foot on the brake and a little throttle to spool up the turbo and then let go of the brake.

If you want to totally disable the traction control/ESC, push and hold the button for about 5 seconds. Now you have an old fashioned car without the electronic big brother. Just beware that the car will not be as safe at high speeds.

Considering the clutch isn't a warranty item I won't even try a no-lift shift on my 5 spd let alone neutral drops in an auto.

With te gearing, doing no lift in the 1st 3 gears really isn't a problem, the clutch can easily take that, but with power adders doing it in 4th and 5th might strart to tax it.

Hold comp button for ten seconds and turn off both trc and ESC :)
