Deck lid and rocker protection?

Anyone have any advice on how to protect the deck lid and rockers from scrapes and bruises? I tried to purchase the factory protector only to realize it's made for the regular SS.
I'm thinking a thick vinal sticker, black, to go over and when it gets scuffed, make another.

To clarify, the regular HHR's have a side step rocker that has hard black ABS Plastic step. The rear deck has a little hump that you can get a hard black ABS plastic to cover. My SS has neither, the ground effects and rear bumper are just smooth. With a 1 year old that's going to want to be climbing in and out soon, and with the gear I typically haul, I'd like to protect my pretty car...

My neighbor is in the graphics business, I'll see what he has and if I get a solution, I'll post a picture.
