Difference in years

I am looking to purchase a 2008 thru 2010 HHr SS. Research and time has lead me to ask about the differences in model years. In seeing engine, exterior, and interior, I saw little difference. But cost of vehicle. SO I need help. I'm looking to purchase one in the next 2 months. Any ideas, info or help would be appreciated.

There isnt a big selection of SS's out there really, you may have to take what you can find. That said, there are some differences in factory options, but the engine and body of the vehicle remained the same 2008-2010
Some options that changed:
-2009 had the 2 seater panel version-only 216 made
-late 2008 performance drivers seat was offered on some, then passenger seat sometime in 2009, then both came standard in 2010
-2009 added the performance package optional with the 5spd ss - brembo brakes and limited slip differential (limited slip might have been in '08, not sure)
-2008 optional stereo offered a six disc cd, 2009 switched to usb storage
-2009 optional performance display in center of dash, standard in 2010
-2008 interior colors were all black or black/red, 2009 added the black/light gray, 2010 were all black
-dealer added option on some is the GMPP turbo upgrade for more power
theres probably more, maybe someone else can remember

Black and light gray interior was also available in 08.

09 is the best year to catch the most options. They had better interior colors, performance seats were standard most of the year starting late fall and some had the performance dash if you like it.

10 did not have a few options as they were cut. The roof rack and a few other small ones were killed. The 10's were nearly all alike accept for color.

ah ok, didnt know the black/grey was in 08.

And I remembered one more option on '09 (maybe '10) was AA5, rear quarter window delete, a cool looking semi-panel.

The SS was only the standard body in 10 no half or full panels.

To the OP. If you look at any 2010 SS's remember:
(1) They only had one interior color:ebony
(2) All came with a sunroof
(3) All came with the RPD on the dash: no pillar boost gauge
(4) Roof rails not available as option.
