Differences between the 08 and 09 SS's
Correct me if I'm wrong here for I am still a noob.
The major or quickest way to tell the difference between an 08 and 09 SS is the tach, yes?
Thanx in advance, Glenn |B)

Also look for a performance seat on the passenger side. It is a sign of a later 09 SS.
I have a 08 and the only thing I wish I had the 09 has it the dome light. I will change that in time. I already put in the Performance seat on the passenger side.

Most of these things are options that may or may not be present.
If by "tach" you mean the performance display pod in the center of the dash where the upper storage bin would otherwise be, that is an option and fairly rare, so you cant tell just by that.
The brembo brakes (marked "Brembo" on the front brake calipers) are only on the manual trans '09.
The 08s can also have the performance seat, but I think only 09s can have both driver and passenger.
The best way to check the year is to look at the VIN number at the base of the windsheild, drivers side. The tenth digit represents the year of production, an 8 or a 9.
