Differences between 08 and 10 SS 's
I 've been in the army, i 've had open heart surgery, and i 'been through a host of other things, and i have say : shopping for a car is the most exhausting thing i have ever done!!!
OK, it 's down to a black 08 and a red 10. Both look and run great and have very low mileage. My question is: are there any real differences or improvements between the two years? Or are they basically the same car? It 's really a hard choice, as they both are great vehicles.
Thanks again!

If the money is similar I would get the 10, 24 months younger. When I was shopping there were no used 10's and I fell for the 09 aqua blue it was 5k less. I have put that 5k into the mods I wanted, but the list isn't done yet.

X2 on being the same car.
The thing is how are these 2 different cars equipped as far as options.
exp. perf. pkg(brembos, lsd), sunroof, roof rails(not avail. on 2010) etc.
Do either one have any upgrades. exp. GMTU, sway bars etc.
Tell us how each is equipped and we can give some opinions.

Only real difference will be the seats if its an early 08 it will only have one performance seat that being the drivers side later 08 it could have both, performance seats in 08 were an option, in mid 09 they became standard.

FYI both are stock with the exception of a K&N air filter and a sunroof on the 2010. The 10 is about $2500 more which seems right and the 08 has performance seats on both sides (with that really nice black & red interior) .

You say both are stock. What I was asking is about factory options such as the perf. package (limited slip and brembos) but that was only with the 5 speed. Sunroof and the RPD unit were standard for all the 2010 SS's.
Also the 2010's only had one interior color. Ebony

I don't know if there is any merit to the first year models having bugs to work out. In this case, the 2008 was the first year of the SS model. The only issue I had to have fixed was the lack of braking upon startup. The dealer had to install some type of a vacuum pump I believe to remedy the situation. So if you go with the 2008, make sure that fix has been done. I haven't had any other issues with my 2008, and it is going on 70K miles soon.

If everything else is equal (except the sunroof), $2,500 more for the 10 is really a bargain. The sunroof would have bumped the cost up about a grand and the fact that it is 2 model years newer, will get you better than that at resale down the road.
Mechanically, they are the same car.
