engine and auto trans?
hey guys,
checking out the ss now since they are going to stop making the pt cruisers which i currently own. just trying to compair the two. anyone have any info on the limits of the auto trans and what the problem area(s) are with them? i know with the cruiser they have a weak o/d and can only take about 300 foot pounds of torque. and how much power will the stock engine take?
also all the proformance tunes that i've been reading about, will they work on the auto or are they just for the manual.
thanks
mike

They had to the HHR is so good looking how could you buy a PT anymore
. anyone have any info on the limits of the auto trans and what the problem

That is one of the best transmission GM makes and that`s not because I work there. It has been in production since 1994 and is up graded every year with new engineering and components. We have are own in house dyno and a 16 yr old could not do what that computer does to them transmissions. The engines will blow up way before the transmission does. They also at times hook them to larger engines to see what they can realy take.

Some engineer puts the torque limits on them and that is all it is just a number. They didn`t up the warranty if they thought they where going to have to replace them.
