Factory wheel weight

I weighed my HHR SS wheels today, the wheels/tires weighed in at 49 lbs at 37 psi air. If you give + or - 1 lb. for scale error, the TPS and the weight for the stock Michelin tires at 26 lbs/ea, then one can conclude that:

The factory HHR SS wheel weighs between 22-24 lbs/ea. Thats still not bad for factory wheels. and weigh less then some after market wheels.

when I got my new tires I weighted my wheels all came in at about 24#.... I am glad I didn't get any of the cheaper 18's to "save some weight" the only 18's that are lighter are high dollar

Thanks for the info. When I get around to replacing mine I'll want to know that.

Thanks for verifying the weight of the rims Steve (and that my scale is off 1 lb ).

No problem....your scale might not be off, my wheels were almost a 1# difference between them and the tires were almost 2#

Agreed lightweight wheels are high dollar items!! I'm looking at a set of OZ wheels (18" are 18lbs/ea) and they run $400/ea!!

Well these are coming out soon $100 cheaper per rim and they are suppose to weigh in at 17-18 lbs.

Yes I've got my eye on those. It's funny because at enkei's website they don't have the 5x110 bolt pattern listed for the PF01's. If they have those in gold, I'm all over them. $100 less a wheel is better even though I like the OZ Alleggeritas. But saving $400 means I can buy a tire or 2!
