I love the hood scoops. Are they functional?

Cool SS badges

I have a '65 El Camino that came with every factory option. It even has 'level ride', a link from the rear end to the body, that controls a vacuum operated pump for the rear air shocks. I added a '65 Chevelle SS console w/ shifter. I went so far as have an old timer weld the 'SS' (from a Chevelle) to the tail of the 'El Camino', and then had 'em replated. I admit that I am trying to 'pull one over' on people. The younger observers look at the 'El Camino SS' and say "Wow, an SS El Camino!" All the older guys bend down real close to the 'doctored' emblems to see if they are real. Even up real close, ya can't tell that they are fake. I also added a '65 Impala hubcap center 'SS' to the steering wheel, and a '72 Nova (I think) dash emblem 'SS' in the rear El Camino tailgate emblem. I guess I am trying to fool people, but I sure have a lot of fun with it.

I say, "What ever turns your crank!"

We really need Summer here I think too many have been inside too long.
haha... you're right about that... Can't wait for March to roll around so I can get the SS back on the road!!

Although I don't like fake badging.... it is a matter of personal taste.... so I don't get upset and set my hair on fire over it! :)

Yeah, the imports that put on all the stickers of equipment is what gets me. I saw one that had stickers of equipment from the top of the back window all the way down to the rocker panel. We stopped to talk, and I asked what he had going on in it, and he said nothing it's stock. Thats what I hate, all those AEM, Weapon R etc stickers that do not buy the parts!

Ok now if some get worked up over this what about if they put a SS nose on a LT but no emblems is that acceptable?

You can't blaime many of these people as they are doing what Chevy did for years. Emblems on lame Malibu's and a few other cars. Even the Monte SS many years was just a trim package with emblems.
