Filling it Up
#21
I get on average 2-3 MPG more when running 87 vs 93 octane and the only type of fuel I run in my car is Marathon. I went for a 280 mile trip (one way) 2 weeks ago and before we left for our trip up north my wife accidently filled up with 87 and we got around 29.5MPG and on the way back I filled up the tank when it was bone dry with 93 octane and got 31.7 MPG. I was driving on average 70 - 75 MPH most of the trip. I have also achieved between 33 to 34 MPG when driving on flat elavations for long periods of time. This is just driving normal.
