1. The car seems pretty quiet. I expected to hear more road noise and engine noise, but not.

2. I expected to hear the turbo whisteling, but no. Just a little noise when it is winding up.

3. I drove up to a parking space and slowly creeped up on the curb to see if the front ground effect would rub, yep. I was ticked. As I pulled away it sounded 10 times worse. I got out to look at it and there was no damage. As I placed my hand under the cowl I noticed that the turbo cooler is what rubbed.

4. The side ground effects, as they are not running boards. Get really dirty really fast. I think I am going to buy some mud flaps and customize them so they only stick out a bit.

5. I wasnt aware that the SS came with tire pressure monitoring system. It is cool, but this morning it shows one of my tires has 20 lbs and wants me to add air. I added air but no change. I think I may have a bad sensor.

I think that is it for now.
The engine just might not get louder until the turbo breaks in. Ive read that it takes a few miles before the puter will let the boost limiter kick it up a notch. Correct me if im wrong about that. But excuse me while i conjure up mental images of Emeril going nuts with the jalapenos.

Im kind of excited to see what kind of gains an aftermarket exhaust will give it. I know my 98 Z28 really woke up once i threw a borla on it. But will they sound like fartpipes, geesh i hope not!

Just as I suspected, look out for steep driveways and parking lot concrete curb thingies. Not to mention bigger speed bumps? That front air dam looks great b/c it's so close to the ground but man you know its vulnerable.

Lettuce know how it goes with the custom mudflaps. Did Chevy do their homework? I know the running boards are supposed to help with road grime scratches on the lower doors and rear fender so I hope that these ground effects will do the same.

Tire pressure gauge in the glove box. look into it.
at least until you know the dam thing is working

Thanks a lot for posting the report and we all are REALLLLLY waiting for more and more pics in the gallery.

The ones that are there are hit and miss with the blue ? marks so how about mas fotos por favor?
We hear you're pretty good with the camera...

Does it have the tweeters mounted on the pillars still? It looks like the turbo gauge is where the tweeters were before.

If I didnt feel like crap I would have more photos but it is cold and about to start raining for the weekend.

I got in the SS this morning to find that the tire that had low air issues was now down to 14lbs from 23. I immediately decided to go to the discount tire shop close to my house and sure enought I had a screw in the tire. I also learned that when you have to replace or repair a tire they have to remove the valve stem computer and they charge $5 to rebuild the gaskets on the sensor. (They fixed the flat for free)

I did stop by AutoZone to scope out their mud flaps, but they didnt have much.

As far as the running board, it is not a running board. It is truly a ground effects kit. And yes, it gets dirty really fast.

I'm laughing with you, not at you...I replaced my first tire within the first two weeks of owning my car, and today I just had Flat #6 repaired. Fortunately, I didn't have to buy a new tire THIS time

I'm going to name my car Magnet because it attracts road debris and nails like no other car I've owned.

It does seem to vary alot. On the Solstice forum, a number of people
complained early, then the complaints seemed to fade away as users
realized there was not anything wrong. On my particular GXP, I could not hear
hardly anything unless I opened the hood.

I think Ralphb just doesn't like not being able to hold a gear. My advice is get the car tuned, and programed to shift how he wants. No need for manumatic. the trans feels good, a little soft, but I am coming from a TBSS, which really slams each gear (sometimes awesome, sometimes not)

ralph seems to be coming around. Sounds like he actually likes the car now. Tuning does sound like a good idea. Wonder how much to set it up like that?

Yes, it is just behind the gauge. Keep in mind most of the time the tweeters reflect mainly from the front windshield.
