Smile first service at the dealer.....

went in this AM for the following:

1-emblems not level on driver's side
...result...have emblems to replace myself, I prefer it that way

2-latch on top of computer(ECM) not seated properly
...result...latch adjusted, fits great, snaps into place like it should.
could have done myself, but probably would have broken the plastic piece

3-wheel scratches under clear coat on all wheels (alot of us have this problem) another member explained the reason and he had the same on his C6
I looked at the Vettes they had in stock and they have the same thing, someone at GM is not doing quality control.
...result...nothing, pointed out about the Vettes, (which I already knew), and said was in the manufacturing process, because of polished aluminum......

possible solution....intend to take pics and send to GM with a letter stating my dissatisfaction with the scratches....
if anyone else wants to also take pics of their wheels, and draft a letter, I will call Chevrolet next week and find out where we could send them...
just let me know.

I will be having my first service experience on Tuesday.

1. Clutch pedal makes a noise

2. Tranny Clunks when shifting through 1,2,3

3. Drivers side door lock doesn't always lock/unlock

4. Boost Gauge light flickers

5 Two small dents in the front fender

6. Gas tank is empty... haha

So we shall see how they do. Hopefully they won't put me in some beater of a loaner. I had some issues with them during the whole purchase deal, so they need to make it up to me with something nice! I wouldn't mind a Z06 lol but I know that's not happening!

LOL they better fix it! According to their manager, next time I was on E to bring it in and they would fill her up. I will be sure to tell them that on Tuesday.

I am going in tomorrow for a free 5,000 mile service (including oil change) and I will mention the following:

1. Shift between 1st and 2nd sometime goes into limbo (looks like it's in gear but it's not, I take it out and put it back and all is fine, happened about 3 times)

2. Wind noise by driver side mirror

3. Tail gate makes a 'popping' sound when opened after an extended amount of time.

4. Headliner by rear of the sunroof makes noise about once a week (I push up on it and it goes away, just needs a little adhesive applied)

5. I will mention the boost gauge light flicker (seems only at idle)

These are all minor (except the shifting...) so they aren't really any big deal. All should be warrantied.

I will let you know how it goes...

I thought I was the only one experiencing this tail gate pop! I had the dealer check into it today and they said they could not repeat this issue.

I also mentioned the difficulty shifting into reverse and they said they could find nothing. He said there was no adjustment for the shifter, contradicting what others have said...

I have it up on jackstands now painting the calipers, so maybe I'll have a look-see at the shifter cables myself.

I predict it'll either be a Z06 or a base model Aveo with a bent wheel.

The usual fix for this is replacing the liftgate struts.

That was good, that gave me a good chuckle! You could add "with a french fry on the floor".

But any HHR owner qualifies for an HHR or Cobalt loaner or something close. It has to be a GM vehicle for the dealer to get reimbursed for it.

Alot of us also have an issue with #2....wind noise....I decided not to tell the dealer about that one.....although some have pointed out that it is the gasket from the outside mirror that is at fault....

will be waiting for your full service report........
